Question EX head on LX block??

Right now I have i/h/e, but I still want more speed. Just wondering if it would cost too much, or actually work if I found an EX head to put on my LX motor. I would just save up 50 years for a K20, but I want something a little cheaper and sooner. So basically wouldn't that just be like having the EX motor with 9.9:1 compression with an LX transmission. If that wouldn't cost too much or be impossible then once I found the head I could save up a little at a time for port&polishing, and then raise the compression to around 10.5:1. I know it wouldn't be the best recipe for speed, but it would still be a decent start. Tell me if that sounds decent, or if it would even be possible without costing as much as a K20 swap. Thanks.

You need to SEARCH.
It takes more than the head to do a VTEC conversion, and its gonna cost almost as much as a K20 engine to get it done right... all for 5-10 HP or whatever the EX adds.... it just ain't worth the effort. Even with internals, etc... you'll have to build one hell of a motor to equal the 200 HP of the K20.

Yeah, this has been discussed many times before... and most people agree putting in an EX head is just not the way to go when considering price for performance.... save the $$
