whats up with Coil Overs?
Anyone have any Coil Overs? or know anything about them? they sound pretty good and they are fairly cheep... i can get a set for under 200 bucks for my 2002 civic.. that sounds kinda cheep so i was wondering if there was a catch to being able to lower your car -4 inches and raising it up to like +2 inches...
anyone know the deal? just let me know
thanks!

yea..
go with Ground Control or TEIN SS..
all others are simply junk!
Well maybe there are a few other good names..
If you dont know much about them, i suggest you just get springs and go with a solid drop of whatever preferred..
Dont get the offbrand ****... Get the real stuff..
Try Tornactive.com or Adventon.com

i would do the set drop but i want to be able to adjust it so it goes a little lower than 2.5 inches (thats what all the standard drops are for my car) and sometimes i would want it higher.. and i cant afford air bags :P

i have owned ground control coilover sleeves, and now i have Tein SS coilovers. DO NOT GET GROUND CONTROL. they will bust your struts. you get what you pay for, $300 dollar performance vs. over a grand $$$$ performance

Um... lotta bashing dude... my gc's havent done anything to my struts, and a few of my friends have tiens that I helped them get, and they save my gc's ride awesome... dunno what happened with you guys..
and... new struts, or air struts... the reason tiens are so expensive is becuase it comes with struts...
or you can go gc's 300, and koni ajustable shocks for like 300-400 and come out with the same product but 200-300 cheaper easily...
choice is of course your, the tiens are good, but I was lucky to get them on a dela for 1050 for my friend becuase I'm a long time friend, buyer, and word spreader of the shop I go to... your lucky if you find the tien ss for less than 1150 without install..
300-350 for gc coilovers, up to 150 for install, max 400 for koni struts, + around a 150 max to install..so top overall is 1050 at the max installed for the same basic product..

get shocks that are actually designed to work with the springs. +damper settings ...tein ss
i was in same situation as you. thought about getting gc coils+koni. i didnt like them much. eventually tein ss will pay off.

Thought about getting them? Well, how do you then know whether you liked them if you only thought about them... (not being an ***, just a question)
I guess it is more overwheling opinion on tien ss, it's your choice, good luck to you.

i think its worth paying extra 200 bucks to buy tein ss. shocks that are actually designed to work with the springs together and you also get damper setting.ya its just opinion.
Hey, if you wait until the end of the month, the Tein Basic comes out. I heard it has the spring rate softer than the SS, but only cost $750 retail. They are a matched spring and damper so you will not have to worry about blowing your struts. Plus it will be cheaper and better in quality than buying GC/Skunk2 with Konis/Tokico(when they come out). Tein is finally learning to yield the ricer market(those who do things cheaply). My friend has a Supra and he only buys JDM parts. He has a non turbo and found some TRD intake cams and TRD computer/piggy back that cost him about $1200 each. <- only made in Japan and he found a AEM Japan only something. It has to do with the intake side of the engine
