UNIMPRESSED WITH URETHANE!!!!
I recieved my Kaminari lip kit from mbautosports. My friend did all the prep and paint work with my help. We were very dissapointed with the quality of the urethane. After painting the parts, you could look down and along them and see small waves
My friend is used to dealing with fiberglass and could not believe the imperfections of urethane. Now we are well aware of the durablity urethane has over fiberglass, but fiberglass just looks soooo much better. Granted, most people wouldn't notice these waves, unless your really looking for them.
My question is has anyone else experienced this with urethane, or what? The only way to get these perfect would be to sand the **** out of them with like a 1200 grit paper before any primer is put on. But the tricky part is you can't really see them until there painted, so it's all guess work. Anyone else in the same predicament??

waves in the paint are caused by movements while painting... plain and simple. they are just large runs!. Also the surface might have not been sanded evenly therefore causing the waves.. if you have pinholes in your paint then thats also caused by bad prepping. i have the full tsunami kit and its been painted and i have no ripples or anything.. no pinholes eaither.

I know what runs look like, these are not runs. It's hard to explain, but almost like high spots in the urethane. My friend assures me it's in the material, not imperfections in the painting. He did it for free, except the cost of paint. Also, no pinholes thank god.
