Question JetChip info

Did anyone of you guys install Jetchip? Is it worth ? Is it noticeable in the means of power?
Would this void a warranty? Thanks in advance!

As far as warranty void, i doubt it depending on your dealer. and i know of the people who have added an ecu chip and noticed gains on 7thgen.

I was thinking to add Jetchip, but I am worrying that it might mess up my ride. I looked on the internet for people reviews and could not find any. Those guys at Jetchip give only 1 year of warranty (or 2, do not recall at the moment) and claim that it will not void warranty. I would claim the same if I try to sell some stuff

i think you have to send them your ecu so you might not have your car for a few days.

I would be intrested but you have different parts on your car than I do. And with the JET ECU Upggrade, you have to give them a list of all the parts you have on your car so they can program it right. I heard the upgrade is worth it, but you have to mod up your car to get real gains out of it.

My friend with a 6th gen civic got a JET Chip... He said he didn't notice any power gains, that he was without a car for like 4 days, and said that if your car isn't hella modded, you won't notice anything, and that it's really a waste of money.

I think that there is a hondata, (correct me if i'm wrong) engine management system, that is like 350 bucks that will actually give you real HP gains, compared to the JET ECU...

So for like 150 bucks more you can have the Hondata thing, and get some HP, because noone on this site can really have a whole hella lot of modding done, because not enough stuff has been made.

Hondata dosen't make a computer upgrade for our cars...I wish they did because my friend has a 2002 SI with basic bolt-ons and he got 15whp just with the hondata uprade. With the RSX Type-s you can adjust vtec and rev limits as well. I don't think they are going offer for our cars

so if you get that chip, then add an intake for example, it needs to be reprogrammed to have its fullest function?

Exactly. That's why you want all the mods you are gonna put on your car, before you get the chip, and even after you get the chip you won't notice a difference at all. Just like my 6thgen buddy.

I sure hope so...I have always heard good things about them...They are expensive, but you really get gains...I might just e-mail them again to see what's up.

Hondata at this point does not have one for our car, but your ecu can be converted to an obd-1 and can then utilize hondata, mugen, etc. chips. I suggest discussing with your dealership and a few shops about the conversion...

It may take a while, I spent over a hour just tracking down a shop to talk to about it, I ws given 4 different numbers, I have yet to call the last company, will call tomorrow...(dx exhuast conversion to ex... for hp headers and downpipe.. ) It is somewhat relative to the conversion aspect, otherwise its just here for points-sake.

I have always heard that you have to reprogram everytime you add a mod. That's why they say "It's best to do all your modifications to your engine before flashing or replacing the ECU to get the best outcome" I don't know personally so don't qoute me.
