heh. dc sports for you.
you probably lost some low end torque and the extra weight didn't help any... hence it feels a bit slower when you're just driving normally...
*shrug*
everyone has lightweight, lighter than stock design... i wonder what DC is using..

lol. dc sports is hardly so great.
dc sports, aem, injen... they're all over rated.
and a lot of us are feeding them tank loads of cash..
again, $500 for an exhaust that weights more than stock... and any performance gains it has is easily offset by its extra weight..
but it does sound nice. heh.
I duno about u guys, but I just want to find a good axel back... or muffler. there's no need for a catback on a stock engine. or a mildy bolt on one (ie: intake and header what not)

I got a TCS- it's the BEST sounding exhaust IMO & though i don't know about what gains it gives me (no dyno chart) it did improve throttle response due to better piping (better flowing exhaust gasses).
As far as the low increase in HP, show me an exhaust that gives significantly more! Can i see a dyno chart w/ ONLY a Tanabe exhaust & no other mods to see how it "ownz" the TCS? (maybe .05 HP?)
Low gains on our cars doesn't have to do w/ the exhaust being bad, but due to the much better design of exhausts on new cars. They improve emissions & keep the same performance.

i love my tcs!! the sound is great and i love when i start the car. i wish it was a little bit louder but that can be fixed my replacing the resonator w/ a straight pipe!! and i plan on doing that too!!

I started out with TCS because I loved how it looks. It's very hard to find decent cat-back, so it would look nice, give you power and sound great. But TCS - is the best balance. If you want just performace, heck, put the straight pipe , take away catalyc converter !
If you want to really feel gain of power, you must go with TCS, Header and FIPK( or other combination, but the car has to get a bit more air and that air should flow better to the TCS . Then your TCS will work even better...
Having only those 3 upgrades,Raced 2002 1.8T Jetta Tiptronic beet it in first two gears(I assume up to 60mph ) 3 times, but got beatten on the third. So I am going with JetChip and lightweight rims too
Hope it will help with TCS posting

tcs is a good exhaust. i like the looks and the sound. it is heavy as hell and doesnt do anything for power, but what exhaust does for our car? if ya like the looks and are looking for a deep noticable sound but arent a moron and dont wanna wake the neighbors up, get the tcs.
hey guys. i was also considering the tcs, but it seems to get alot of bad press (no gains, heavy, leaves black mark on bumper, etc.). maybe i'll just stay stock and save my money. in my opinion, the best souding exhaust that i have heard in a long while was none other than the stock exhaust system on a 97+ model prelude. no lie. the car was unmodified (at least from my limited view), a total sleeper. once the guy hit the on-ramp, he took off. nice, nice sound! made me turn and smile (this is rare, especially considering some of the crap i see on the road today). THAT'S the kind of exhaust i want for my car........unobtrusive under normal driving conditions......bite at wide open throttle.
