Neuspeed Exhaust?
all this talk on exhausts, I thought I would throw my thoughts/ questions into the mix.
I'm looking at the DC TCS but Neuspeed has their own exhaust and I haven't heard much about it. I know that they're big in the german cars (ie VW, audi, etc) but what kind of performance are they toward civics? I like how it's more so low profile versus a large opening or the often referred to coffee can look. Does anyone know about the sound of this exhaust? Is it a low rumble, high pitch, or can you compare it to a similar sounding exhaust??? I know I like the sound of the DC, but the look of the Neuspeed.

I dont know of anyone on this site who's had the neuspeed catback other than me. It's a nice looking exhaust, not a huge opening like you said. I have the DC TCS now and it's quieter than the DC. It still sounded real good though, nice and deep. I liked it when I had it. I just wanted a change.

it looks good IMO, the tip should be around 3" only, if you search in the marketplace, someone was trying to sell one before.. so the pics may still be up, I dont know if they imported those over... attached pics... hmm.

I remember a guy selling it in the marketplace for a flat $250 shipped, and he bought it for like $600 at the time. I should have jumped on it, but I think it was for the Coupe only. Most likely, anything Neuspeed is good, so yeah.. Go for it.

OK, I've had it installed for about a day now. I snapped some pics, you can see them here:

Installation was easy once I got the OEM midsection unbolted from the cat. Note to self: Invest in air tools. Everything fits together perfectly, and the system and the hardware appears to be well contructed. As for performance gains, I notice everything seems to have smoothed out across the band. Nothing major, but when accelerating from a stop it seems to get to the top end a little faster, and it gains speed more consistently than stock. Neuspeed claims +6 HP on their web site. I have no way of checking the validity of that, unless someone wants to buy me a run on the dyno ;-)
As for the sound and looks, I'm a big fan. I was looking for an exhaust that didn't look or sound ridiculous like 90% of import exhausts out there. The sound is deep - absolutely no high pitched sound coming out of it. The k&n FIPK under the hood takes care of the high range. It's almost like the Neuspeed exhaust is the sub, while the FIPK is the highs and mids. They complement each other nicely. Just over the last day and a half or so, it seems to have gotten a touch louder, but nothing really noticeable.
My other big reason for choosing this exhaust: It fits with the RSX sway bar without a problem. There is more than enough coverage between the piping and the sway bar. I've been listening to it closely, and I haven't been able to detect any rattling coming from anywhere.
