What Tint Tinting?
Hey everyone, I have a eternal blue pearl civic and I really want to get some tint on all my windows. I was just curious to know what you all think I should get. I don't want to spend more than $100 on a tint job, and I don't want anything special, like reflective tint. I just want a shade that is dark, but not so dark to where no one can see anything inside, maybe just a shadow of someone in the car or outlines of things. I am not sure how this tint shade works, so please bare with me. Id really appreciate your help, thanks!

You will be hard pressed to find a quality job for under 100 bucks unless you know someone. I seriously suggest you up your limit. My plain old black 35% tint ran me 140 with lifetime warranty on everything including if the tint messes up the defroster. Make sure whatever you get for tint has a warranty on cracking, peeling, fading, purpling, accidental scratching, etc... or you could have problems. It is better to go to a reputable shop and pay a little more to make sure it gets done right and that the work is backed just in case.

If you don't want to spend over 100 bucks then don't do it. You will get some cheap tint with no warranty I would think. Mine was $185 for all the windows. In Michigan you can not have any tint on the front drivers side or pass. side but I got them done 20% and the rears 5%. My tint has a life time warranty not to bubble, scratch, or fade. They also tinted thru my third brake light instead of cutting around it. You can see it in my members ride section.

The 5" winshield is the legal height for a winshield top strip.
The net specs mean the combined transmission when the film is on and added to the factory tint. That doesn't appear to apply in Texas.
Sticker loc, means they need to put a certification sticker that the tint is legal on the drivers side window.
The medical part means that you can have darker than legal tint if you have an excuse from your doctor, probably for eye problems or maybe skin sensitivity problems
I went to a tint shop in town and the price was $135. Turns out the owner and I had done some gun trading so he did my tint for $115. Got Llumar. I think it's one of the best and has a good warranty.

i also have eternal blue and have 35% all around. its not too dark, but one shade over the legal limit.
i'd get the same % all the way around, it looks better. and also ask if your guy has True Grey tint cause other stuff will turn purple after a year or two. and it has a very nice and sublte metallic look to it.

trust me dude, Dont get a $99 tint job. Your wasting your money. It might look good for a while but no good tint job is going to cost $99 unless you have a hookup somewhere. Get it done right and you dont have to worry about it. I have 18% all over and a 5% strip on the front and it looks great. nothing fancy just regular Lumar tint. Go Lumar or 3m they are the best brands. I have lifetime warrenty on mine.
Just my 2 cents.

2k1civic has a point. $99 isn't going to get you very far. I'm about to drop $200 on a tint job for my Civ coupe. It's $179 for all around: 15% on the back windows and 30% on the fronts--and about an extra $20 for the visor strip on the front windsheild @ 15%. (Should I get the sunroof tinted @ 15% too?) Not bad for Plantinum tint (by Llumar). I was told that this kind of tint is only legal in Florida at the moment. Also it has the highest heat resistance, "because it actually has metal within the tint." (Again, this is what I'm told from my local tint shop.)
