V2 Bypass Valve

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the bypass valve for the AEM CAI works on the new V2 also? Although there have been many threads covering the V2, I was unable to get an answer to this question. So if you want to flame I have my suit on

I don't think it would because of the change in diameter.

So does that mean you have no protection against water getting into engine? That would be really stupid. I was going to buy one but now I'm not so sure. Hhmmm?????

Please proceed to activate your flamesuit in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

just playing. You don't need to worry about water unless you are going to be stuck in a two foot puddle.

Yeah I guess you're right but I still would feel more safe with it. I'll probably end up getting one anyways. I've just read a couple threads regarding hydrolock of the engine, which would mean you need a new one. Just made me a little paranoid.

IMO bypass valve doesn't do much against water splashing on the filter... it only works when the filter is fully submerged...

and yeah I guess it doesn't fit. bigger pipping that supposely gives out more hp. heh.

It will not even come close to fitting. Two way different diameters.

Um, I've got your answer. CONTACT AEM ABOUT THIS!!!!

The bypass valve comes in 3 different sizes. I would bet that one of them should fit.

Yes it is valuable to get the bypass valve. I personally have seen 3 cars saved by the valve. But where I live everyone has to have a valve because it floods regularly down here.

I think he was refering to the bypass valve that he already has for his other intake. In that case it wouldn't fit.

Well I called AEM this morning and the guy said there is NO Bypass valve for the V2. He said you just have to be careful of where you drive. I just wonder how "careful" I should be? He said it was made for power, pure and simple. This makes it a lot tougher decision. The guy also said that the V2 is still in production and hasn't come out yet so he doesn't have the particular information for our car., but I've seen it being sold on some websites. ??????

You can see my more detailed answer for this question in the other V2 forum at the beginning of this section, but basically the bypass valve will never be offered because the bypass valve would cause the technology used in the V2 to be completely useless.
