You mean the intake or exhaust resonator? The removing the exhaust one will make it sound like this....farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt. The intake one will just give you a litle more intake noise is all.

Think McFly he said muffler so naturally you would presume it would be the exhaust resonator. Lets sound it out R-E-T-A-R-D

Dude, you are an idiot....half of the people around here think that taking off the intake resonator gives them louder exhaust. Maybe if you would search through some threads or post something informative once in a while you might know.

Thanks for the replies.. I think.

So if I remove the exhaust resonator, it will deepen the tone? I'm okay with that as long as it isnt real loud or pop(backfire) like crazy.

No, it will sound like a weed eater. It won't get deeper just louder.....That is if you keep the stock muffler.

You took time out of your day to do nothing but insult someone. That's pretty lame man. Does it make you feel good to insult others? Let's act like an adult even if you aren't quite there yet.

If you don't like the threads, just scroll. You need not vent your frustrations on the rest of us. I'm sure you can find something else to "mess" with.

I agree, I mean, you are sick of the the same post right? Well I am sick of all of the people just bashing others. I would not care but that was an attack against me so I defended it.

What is it you think a resonator is for then? Do they just put that extra can in there for fun?

But now to reply to it. His name suggests he is going into the air force or already was. Just think how you will act with a bunch of engorged testorone ballons running, eating, sleeping, and resting with you for extended periods of time. Think, no exposure to girls and anything of that nature. Why do you think the military did not want women? It is a distraction to most guys.

Just a thought.

I had an OBX bomb muffler, techniquely it is an axle back, that I could have given you for $20 bucks. I just gave it to my friend to sell. It was mellow with the resonator in place, but deeper without. My exhaust sounded just like the Tanabe RM on my friend's 5th gne hatch(GSR motor).

Of course it makes the exhaust louder. More air in, more exhaust out. Almost everybody knows that.

What the f*ck is this supposed to mean. Are you trying to generallize all Air Force personel with the comments of one stupid person. By making assupmtions like that you are a retard as well. Do you have a problem with the people that make it possible for you to live like you do? I'm not trying to hate but don't say sh*t you know nothing about.

is more air really going into the throttle body? the tb lets in a set amount of air at x% the throttle plate is open. only way to pack in more air is to compress it (through cold or a straight pushing force). there aren't any gains (and maybe even a decrease from sucking in hotter air) from having no intake resonator.

are you done?

I'll be done when I say I'm done. The resonator is a convuluted restrictor to air flow. More hot air, v less cooler air, is still more air. Air in/exhaust out. Otherwise a SRI wouldn't do anything at all. You don't have to cram more air when you remove a restrction. You just naturally get more air available to the TB. How do you think K&B and then all those copy cats got to making pleated cone filters in the first place? More filter area, less pressure drop, more air in.

Sure they work when the engine is warm. Much warm air = more total air than less cooler air. But nice job of cherry picking on your reply. Old trick.

It's all about lowering the pressure drop by going to a much larger filter area, cutting down on flow restrictions, you see.

you know all about the complaints with the loss of torque in sris. i dont need to say anything further. your ricer logic is astounding to me.

The only reason I took you down the path and led you completely off the subject of exhaust noise, was because it's so easy to do to an amateur flamer like you. It can be fun too.
