Exhaust Q

I was wondering if you just buy the rear section part off a coupe (the part with the muffler) will it fit onto a sedan regardless of brand?

It might not if you are going to try to bolt it up to your stock exaust. Is that what you want to do?

Yeah...i thought it could be bolted on...i know the pipes are different between the coupes and sedans but in the rear i thought it was the same. I'm planning to just change the rear because of the vibration problems some members are having driving through rain puddles after they changed the b-pipe or with stock b-pipes set up from Honda. If i do change the whole thing, Honda will not give me a new b-pipe if i need one

I looked up stock rear sections for coupes and sedans, and they have different part numbers, but I don't know the exact difference.

I haven't done anything to my exhaust, based on prior poor experiences back in the olden days.

However, I would go with a Apezi World Sport rear section, If I were buying one. It has a flat muffler, but a nice tip, and it's quiet. I don't like loud.

For cheap, I did have a HP rear section and it looked to be well made. I ended up selling it to a local member.

Just from reading here, I haven't seen that many problems reported with HKS, but they seem to be hard to find and kinda high priced.

The coupe and sedan are different. I think it is due to the rear bumper, on the sedan there is a cutout and the tailpipe goes straight out. On the sedan the bumper is flat across and the tailpipe bends down at the end. That is the only difference I know of.

okay... currently.. i have the Magnaflow Catback exhuast. While ording my exhuast from John, MagnaFlowGuy, i confirmed it with him that the Civic Coupe and the Civic Sedan shared the same part number. I also asked him if it was possible if i ordered a JDM exhuast designed for a 4 door would fit into a Coupe.. and he said it is highly possible. but the other factor we have to consider was that the magnaflow exhuast uses U brackets, not Flanges, so there maybe a slight differance at the connection points. i havent researched much more about it since i am happily satisfied with my Magnaflow.. its nice and quiet.. deep too as well.. compared to the Greddy Evo. The Magnaflow exhuast sounds very similar to the GReddy SP edition line.
