you have been a member since the beginning and you only posted 22 posts?!! haha. anyway it is only a shorty header which means that it is only the top part. you won't notice much at all with most bolt on modifications. search around for info.

I contacted Kamikaze this morning asking them to setup a GroupBuy on their Headers. I am still waiting to hear back from them.

As of now Kamikaze prices on their homepage are:

1) $275 = High Temp Black Coat

2) $290 = Polished Nickel Chrome

3) $330 = Polished Ceramic

LOL, these are full blown racing headers. You will NOT pass emissions tests. I'm glad I don't have emissions test.

as far as a carb exempt header is concerned your one and only choice is DC. Thats the only reason that I still have mine. I think that your money is going more into the carb exempt part than performance.
As far as coatings they really don't make a difference in temp. It all depends on how you want it to look. The chrome is just for show and will turn blue after a while and will probably rust first out of the three.

er.. I dont think you should spend the money on a DC header, when equivalent ones runs for 50% cheaper...

the overprice is purely in the name, the process of getting carb exempt isn't that tough but most manufactures/companies dont want to bother with it.

its not a big issue too since truthfully any direct replacing of the ex's top section manifold (header) doesn't do anything to effect emission output. replacing the dowpipe with the welded cat is another story.

but it yeah, it may not pass the visual inspection if the smog tech is picky. in either case its not too difficult to just swap out the aftermarket and put on the stock one.

you dont want lower temperature when it comes to header. why do you think the heatshield is there for? to keep heat IN the pippings and out of the engine bay. the more heated a header is the faster and smoother the exhaust fumes exit the chambers. thats why we have header wraps. there are cons to header wraps though, since they completely seal up (or when you do completely seal up) the header, it wears the header down faster.. and the header may crack sooner depending on its quality.

speaking of cracks, DC headers have issues in that department too, its not all quality, I've come across a few people with complaint of a DC header that hasn't been wrapped with header wrap that cracked.

anyway, search around, there are many deals if you look carefully... and truthfully, you wont feel that gains either way I think.

I wouldn't spend 200 on any header, when there are so many replicas for $100 (top section header) and $180 (replaces downpipe/cat convertor)

in fact just awhile ago there was a combination auctino for a ceramic top section with a stainless steel downpipe for around 150 shipped. dont remember what it ended at though. was going to buy it but didn't want to deal with wiring up the o2 simulator.
