OEM HID PROJECTOR RETROFITS
OEM HID PROJECTOR RETROFITS
If your serious about your lighting and refuse to retro over the counter HID kits into your stock halogens for mediocre beam patterns I found a website that retrofits OEM HID projector housings of your choice into either your aftermarked housings or stocks. This is a legit website that uses OEM Projectors units from Audi, Honda S2000 and, E46 3 series BMW's.

They charge an isane amount. The guy used to be nice and all and used to do stuff for free... now he charges 4 digits for these kinds of services. He does a very good job though. If any of you want, I can hook you up with these kinds of projectors for around 130-150 bucks. They sell on ebay easily for twice that amount. mugen02ex@aol.com let me know.
The price is negotiable for e.g. if you get the parts yourself like mangoex suggested the cost would only be for labor and its price would significantly drop. Your not only paying for headlight units you've also gotta consider the following.
1)Projector units w/ out hid ballast and harness costs about 150 - 200 brand new
2)comparable hid kit or HID oem would shoot up 200-500 dollars
3)Labor intensive beam pattern correction/ aiming solutions and autoleveling 200 dollars of man hours.
These tentative prices are suggested and aren't too significant if your highest retro mod is clearing headlights you know exactly how much a pain it is just to weather seal em back this solutio is a small price to pay. I for one would rather pay 800 bucks than trying to retro myself and blow a set of 200 dollar bulbs because of lack of weather seal or condensation issues.
All custom jobs cost $ and this is just a custom headlight conversion. Not to mention your also paying for warranty on all those parts and labor as well.

holy s.hit thats expensive!!! I used to want HIDs, but i know that I'd be able to see a little better at night. But I think its not really worth it to see an extra 20 feet in super white light. I'd still love a pair if i could get quality ones for 100 bucks, but I have come to the conclusion that HIDs are just for bragging rights.
