COOL NOW I HAVE SOMETHING TO MOUT MY NEW K20A WITH
a few questions:
1: Why would you want to put the K24 in your car? Sure its high power, and lots of torque, but theres no aftermarket parts for it. I was under the impression that although the RSX, RSX-S, Si, and CRV have engines from the same family, that they all use different aftermarket products. Can someone help me out with that? And plus they would be even more rare i would think then the RSX-S engine which is already at about 5 grand.
2: When i have the K20A2 in my car which intake can i use? Will i only be able to use a short ram, or will the CAI work as well? (just thinking of fitment issues)
3: If i get the subframe from an Si, or RSX-S, and axels from a 97 GSR, will i have to buy a new suspension setup? I have the TEIN coilovers, and i love them, and would hate to give that up? Will it work with the new subframe, and axels? Im sorry if that is an obvious answer.
Thats it, thanks for any help that you can give me

To answer your questions:
1) Although the k20 offers lots of power and torque, some people like it. That's a big reason to make the swap. Some after market parts would be hard to put into your car; intake, headers, or something outside of the engine itself, may be hard to come by. In this case, I guess you'd have to go custom. However, other aftermarket parts such as camgears, camshafts, pulleys, etc. would still work with the engine itself.
2) From the swaps I've seen, the stock air intake from the k20 has been used. In the case of HASport, they used a custom intake (short ram). Whatever the case though, when you do want a particularly type of intake, you may have to go custom.
3)You can keep your current suspension setup. The engine shouldn't effect your suspension setup at all.

KAIRI... your incorrect... are engine bays are exactlly the same. exactly. all after market parts for the RSX will fit.. except for exhaust.. thats GOT to be custom... intakes, headers, and anything else should fit no problems... and HASport DIDNT USE A CUSTOM.. IT WAS AN RSX INJEN SHORT RAM. PERIOD. MODIFICATIONS- NONE..

You would put a K24 in your car because it has more torque from the factory, and more displacement (more possible torque). But I do not know if it has variable timing on both cams (it probably just has variable intake timing). They will NOT be rare, every single 03 + Accord with a 4 banger has one. They'll be easier to get than K20A2s just because of the shear volume of Accords sold. And there will be plenty of goodies to go around. I'm sure Comptech will take a go at it, as will everyone else who makes Honda stuff. The only disadvantage is that you can't get a 6 speed, but other than that, theres no reason why you couldn't swap it in.

Engine mount kit to bolt in the K-series engine into the 2001-2002 Honda Civic. Made from 6061 T-6 Aluminum. Keep power steering and ac with this kit. Bolt in application.
nowhere does it say that a subframe is required.

Ok. let me set this threat straigh before more peole get things wrong.
The kit is NOT out yet, it will be available first of the year.
you DO still need the subframe.
kit also inclused a battery holder, and radiator support.
I know this, because i speak to Hasport bi daily almost, and they are sponsoring the swap car. and are advising us as well. I will also be a dealer for them after the year.

How's that swap coming, btw? You guys haven't updated your site in regards to that swap...
one quick thing for you guys to think about. if you want a CAI in that engine bay you're going to have to go with a custom job. the rsx front end is longer, and where the rsx CAI would go in the wheel well, wont fit (i've tried). i'm not totally sure where hasports battery would sit considering they didn't have it in any pics that i've seen, but if their battery is sitting where i think it might be (right below the throttle body and over towards the driver side), then you will not be able to get any kind of CAI to fit (unless you were to go all the way over the transmission and take it down by where the exhaust is). if you were to move your battery to where the rsx's would be, then you would be able to make your civic CAI fit (with the addition of some elbows).
Actuall have alredy thought of it a long time ago. We are having a custom one fabricated. The short ram (injen) does colt on however.
dont assume what you dont know weve been lookin at this for some time now

i didn't assume anything. i was just trying to help you/everyone out who is going to be or is already trying this swap. a lot of people could arrange their engine bay differently. was just trying to help.
ill be making a step by step process for this swap on my page. along with selling all the parts needed for the swap on my site, after we get it done.
thanks ill be sure to mension the intake issue to all in my writings

just out of curiousity, are you going to wire your car, or are you going to take it to a shop and have them do it? if you haven't noticed already, there are some differences between the rsx wiring and the civic wiring, i know duh, there suppose to be. but i mean different as in you have to trace back a couple of wires to make sure which is which in the civic loom. i don't remember which ones are different right off hand (from the helms manual, and in the civic)...i'll try to help if i can if you would like it, just let me know.

now i just gotta find a wrecked RSX and the money to buy it. Makes most sense to buy a whole car, cause you get the subframe suspension hubs, and all the little misc **** your GONNA need. by 2005 mine will be done
that's great that you wont have to go through the agony of wiring it. it really sucks, and got difficult even with the helms manuals for both the civic and the rsx-s. lucky you, and i hope all goes well for you.
