NEW HP Racing Header

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted about this but i looked in the DIY for the 4-1 header/cat and the last page someone said "THERE IS NO NEW HEADER COMING OUT!!!" but.... I just called HP Racing and they said they stopped production of the old style and by Jan/Feb they should have the new style out with the same HP gains but no need to shave mounts or lift the motor

Good news. They seem to have one of the best power gains, but that little motor mount interference was a problem.

Ok, I have asked this before but things mite of changed so I'll ask again.
I have DC sport upper header, will the HP downpipe/cat replacement work with this? Has anyone done it and what's the contact of the HP inc. I wouldlike to ask them.
Thanks a lot.

I don't believe HP. HP is known for being liars and giving out false information. First of all, HP doesn't even MAKE that header. They just put their logo on it. Think about it, why do you think other websites were distributing the same 4-1 header that didn't have "HP Racing" logo on it. HP racing is full of bullshit. If they release a new header, then let them do it... but I still don't believe them. They've lied so many times. This is not new news about their "new header release." In fact, I will call bullshit on it. Why? Because they DID say that months ago a new header was released AND that they "stopped production on it."

Bullshit. Their 4-1 header is a good production yes, but talking to HP is not the best thing you can do if you're a 7th Gen Civic own at least.

Ok so who makes the header that HP sells and can you get it from the source cheaper?

Well, the header at the civicstore (off brand) looks almost exactly the same as the hp version. You can pretty much tell that they are made by the same company imo.

I talked with a guy from the civicstore through email a while back. He pretty much said that his header was the same as the hp w/o the name. Seems like he said that they come from the same distributor. I think the only difference between the two was a sensor location near the top of the header like for an lx or something. Other than that, you couldn't tell the 2 apart to save your life imo.

Anyhow, he wanted the same price or a little more in fact for the off name version so I declined.

NBPCivic has the same no-name header. So does OverTheTop. His DIY was construction of installing the same no-name header and he is the one that gave me the info of the no-name header. The original header is made by a company without a name (which is how it was distributed WITHOUT HP's logo) so that's all I can tell you about who made it. And mbow is right... the only "new design" they made came with the O2 sensor for the LX Civics. It's the exact header and "high flow cat" so whichever one you get, you're getting the one everyone's talking about that gives you gains.

Still I have YET to be convinced about HP's "new 4-1". I don't see why they would *distribute* a new 4-1 header when it was rated the best product. But anyway, the design of the header is one thing, but the high flow cat (or what some people consider a downpipe that resembles a cat converter) is what really makes the gains come as the cat converter is one of two known things that keeps our cars from gaining power.

Isn't the new design just to eliminate the motor mount interference?

Here's a link that might be useful. Not aimed at anyone in particular, but might come in handy.

Yes, the redesign is to eliminate the need to shave the motor mount or anything like that.
