Exhaust in the winter time? Ordering NOW, PLEASE HELP IMMEDIATELY!

Hey guys, I was getting ready to order the DC Sport TCS Exhaust right now, but then I started thinking about winter time. Is it gonna screw up the exhaust with all the snow and salt on the ground ( I live in chicago, lots of snow and salt )? I mean, I dont think it will ruin the exhaust, but what about the steel? I know you have to take rims off in the winter time so they dont get damaged and all crappy looking from the salt on the streets, but what about an exhaust? Please help me before I push the ORDER button. I dont want to order it if its gonna look like *ish after one winter here. Thanks again!

It's stainless steel... It may surface rust or tarnish, but it shouldn't go through. You should be perfectly fine. Surface rust comes off easily with acetone.

yah i live in maine and have the same exhaust, this is its 2nd winter, and the only thing that has rust on it are the flanges. the only reaon theyre rusting is dc probably used and inferior type of stainless compared to the rest of the system, should be fine thought.

Besides, it's not like everyone would consider unbolting an exhaust system just for the winter...you'll be fine.

your exhaust will be fine just clean it up after the snow dies down. FYI The flanges rust because they are not stainless they are mild steel. You can't make flanges out of stainless its just not strong enough. I luv my TCS i think you will be happy with it.

I was debating the same thought. I just put on my HKS this afternoon and it is already snowing here in Ohio. Everyone told me it will be fine, just clean it with the listed products, and use never dull to shine it back up when it warms up.

Just make sure to clean it OFTEN...any surface rust you may get can be polished out ..........

road salt should be outlawed, they dont use it here in wa. your car is gonna get ripped up from that stuff over time. id suggest not putting exhaust on until winter's over. but its up to you.

Okay, since some of you seem to have the TCS system, I have a question. I've already downloaded and listened to the clips of the exhaust sounds, but what can you tell from crappy computer speakers.(The good ones are in my car.) All I want to know is "Does the TCS make the car sound like a lawn mower on crack, like some of those older Civic HB with the obnoxious lawn mower sound, or is it a nice deep sound. Especially on the inside, since the wife drives the car too. Don't pi$$ off the wife, unless you like the couch.
