really????
because If i change my headers, I remove the "cataliser" in the same time. Do u know what I mean whit CATALISER, i don't know what's the english word. It's an anti polution
If I remove the cataliser, i don't have a gain of Hp??
I already have a short ram and muffler....

lxcivic, its called catalytic convertor
btw, the BEST header for the lx would be the hp 4-1 RACE header (comes with a downpipe/replacement cat)
but when you get that header, you need an ex exhaust/piping an sway bar.
by removing the cat, your car probably won't pass emissions, b/c it will be passing "bad" exhaust fumes. the stock cat takes all the bad chemicals out of the fumes. you will definitely GAIN hp b/c the replaced cat doesn't restrict the air flow through the exhaust pipes.

and hey lxcivic, i speak french too dawg!!!
anyways doesn't the headER replace the cat with a downpipe?

Hey LX... Kamikaze and HP make the headers.the HP header seems to have better gains..you can get it from RMR in Montreal..and there's a few other places that have it..you'll also want to get an O2 simullator or your check engine light will always be on and your fuel will run a little rich...it's about $400-450CAD for the header and $80 for the O2 simulator..

HP header fits all civics...there will never be a header for the LX civic..the HP headers is also "for offroad use only" because it eliminates both catylitic converters and frees up about 12hp on the LX/ DX's and about 7 on the EX's

Mohawkboom: did you say 12hp just for the header + high flow cat?!?!?!
(I have an LX).
are you serious?!?!
where'd you get this number from!?

12 horsies without the high flow cat.. 11 with..the DX/LX manifolds are insanely restrictive.. some eruo models use the D17A2 with the EX exhaust system and have 6 more horsepower just from that..ECU#'s are same..only difference is the manifold..
Mind you that's 12hp with a free flowing exhaust system..an I/H/E combo with HP headers should give you upward of an extra 16-18HP on an LX/DX..

DOn't you have to "Trim" the motor mounts?
I use quotes because most people end up having to take off an inch of motor mount.
Will the kamikaze one be just as good?
I can totally understand the concept you're talking about. The manifold is tighter than a...well, its small.
With the kamikaze, I know you don't have to do much...the 02 sensor plugs right in, doesn't it?
Maybe I'll try out the kamikaze.
Thanks MohawkBoom!

what about the kamikaze header?

This is the pic from the importparts website...does it really have just the manifold, then the downpipe thing?
This would be great! I'll buy it yesterday if it's as good as the HP one!
Thanks guys

tekgnosi you are right. The different is kamikaze header has no cat and hp header has a highflow cat. Since there is no cat for kamikaze header you won't pass emission. I will be getting the kamikaze header for my LX. Less trouble. If you get the hp header you need to length o2 sensor, need ex cat back exhaust and front sway bar.

So wait, if that's the pipe that comes with it for the LX, we WOULD need to lengthen the O2 sensor. The sensor would be at the bottom of the actual header, non?
I took a look at mine on the weekend, and it seems as though I would need to lengthen it. Also, I wouldn't mind using that other pipe to connect to my magnaflow (which fits either the LX or EX, so it's all good)...cuz the magnaflow rubs against the sway bar sometimes (maybe I need the EX swaybar?).
Anyways, I just want rock solid answers:
1) Will the kamikaze come with BOTH pipes
2) Will I need to lengthen the sensors, if so, how big of deal?
Thanks!

i heard installing the Kamikaze header makes you "check engine light" come on, so that would mean that the ECU is getting a wrong reading (mixture) and could be running lean or rich, i heard that the O2 Simulator would work, but i am not sure, i am not sure what the O2 Sim does
tekgnosis from my knowledge
1) yes
2) yes
also need o2 sim to get the check engine light out.
if you want the hp header
1)yes
2)yes
*need ex cat back exhaust
*need ex front sway bar
also need o2 sim to get the check engine light out.
The mid pipe for EX and LX cat back is different. If your cat back is for LX, you may need the mid pipe from a EX to make it work. If your exhaust is rubbing against something in the back. You may need to align it better or get smaller hangers. I don't think you need a ex sway bar because the LX and EX rear sway bar is same(if your LX is 2002-2003)

Go with the Kamikaze header. You don't have to "trim" your motor mounts for the install. You will need to lengthen the second O2 sensor wires and buy an O2 simulator for the kamikaze OR the HP. I think anyone could do that, though. It is very easy.
The only reason to use the HP on an LX or DX is if you want an exhaust that is only made for the EX, or if you could still pass emissions in your state/province with a high flow cat.
