Do I Need To Remove My Bumper to install new Tail Lights?

I have a sedan and I want to install a new set of tail lights (soon as it gets here)

Do I need to remove my rear bumper? How hard is this? Any special techniques or is it just simple as, snap off, snap on?

Nope, you jsut have to be a little bit forceful with them but not too rough that you will damage the aligning pins molded into the housings. There are 3 nuts inside teh trunk, and 2 screws up under the housings from under the car. (may need to be flexible or have a flexible friend to get to these)

BTW- do you have that info for the JDM tails so i can get my set ordered and shipped out soon?

Yes you have to or else its going to be A LOT harder then it already is

IMO take the d*mn thing off
I did it took like 10mins

It is 10000000000 times easier with the bumper off
if you don't take it off I feel for you LOL because its real pain in the A$$ without taking the bumper off

WTF are you talking about? The bumper doesn't have anything to do with installing new taillights. Now if he were installing new headlights, then yes he would have to take the bumper off.

Coupe lights are easy, since they just come off. I have a sedan and there are two hidden screws that are covered by the bumper. It is much easier with the bumper off. Also, I had some trouble making the light sockets fit in the holes (had to shave off some of the plastic). Overall, it's a pretty easy mod.Just make sure to test the lights when you're done. I broke the filament in a few of them when trying to fit it.

Oh okay, thanks!

That's one more reason that I'm glad I bought a coupe.

Umm, yeah you sorta do have to at least unscrew the two screws in the rear fenderwells. You also have to crawl up under the car and unscrew a screw to each outer tail light, yeah its a real byytch. It helps if you have a hand. Have somebody push hard down on the bumper while you pull the lights out. Putting them back in is an ease. I took mine out to paint the other day and it took me about an hour to get them out... Good luck bro..

i did it with the bumper on, but it did take a while... broke the black plastic on one of the tail lights too, where the screws are. you do have to yank very hard. if i did it again, would definitely take the bumper off. be careful with the bulbs too, for some reason i busted 3 bulbs on one side was a stupid way to spend 17 bucks
