Ebay CF Hoods
i recently purchased and received my Ebay ordered Carbon Fiber hood, and i must say, this is a pretty nice damn hood! It is composed of, yes, REAL Carbon Fiber, its light ( I will weigh it whenever I get a dry day, and compare it to stock ), and reinforced with firberglass. the hood is strudy, strong, and holds up weight, even after heating up from the engine. It has a BUY IT NOW price tag of only $275, with shipping to my house (insured) came to a total of $404.00. just wanted to share my opinion. the Ebay hood is just as good as any Fiber Images hood or whatever else u may run into. Shipping was also another plus. I talked with the dealer, and he said they developed a new design used in shipping, and my hood came in with no rough scuff marks, and NO CHIPS on the edges of the hood. NEWayz, happy bidding folks!

i think with any cf hood you need hood pins just in case... especially if you go like 80 or 90, the hood starts to shake and seriously looks like it's gonna fly up...[hr]

here is a live link to the Ebay auction Ebay CF Hood. One thing to take note of is the fact that this hood comes with that front lip on it, but it is made with the rest of the hood in carbon fiber as well. So there is no odd looking silver lip on this hood. It was shipped extremely well too, no cracks, chips, or major scuffing. I promise to take pics soon. The only flaw I noticed was that the hood didnt quite sit flush on at the passenger side fender and windshield corner. Thats probably due to the vandalism that occured a few weeks ago. A large rock hitting my car at that corner of the hood and fender. That hood shipped out from CA all the way to MD and the total was $404 for me. Should be cheaper for anyone closer to CA. If you live in CA, there is a $20 pick-up fee. (you lucky bastards!) Thats all I know, so IM me or leave a reply with any other specific questions. And Happy Bidding!

PS.. the Ebay ordered hoods, If you order from the link I gave you, you get a set of free billet hood pins when you use the "BUY IT NOW" option. I havent installed mine yet, personally, it doesnt suit my taste. Ive been to 100 mph and have noticed no need for them.

OKAY, clarification...
SHIPPING & HANDLING:
Buyer pays for non-refundable shipping of $129 in the Continental U.S. (48 States) including insurance.
Please allow 1- 3 weeks for delivery after payment has been received.
Purchase made within the state of California must pay 8.25% sales tax to Uncle Sam.
For local pick up, there will be a pickup fee of $20.
... Now, Im not too sure on the idea that Unleaded got from this information but I will call John asap and try to clear this up.

sleeper, the more i think about it, i guess the $20 pick up fee is the "tax" for cali people, which is reasonable. my initial thought was that people who pick up would be charged tax in addition to the $20 pick up fee which i thought was an amount they pull out of thin air to make money off you.

I think you guys are confused a bit.
they still want to make money, so they charge pick up fee. but I guess I'd rather pay 20 bucks over the 130 bucks shipping fee.
and yeah there's tax.
it comes out 280 bucks after initial total + pick up charge + 8.25% tax
I guess thats not bad, compare to 400 bucks that dude paid.
man shipping bites. lol.
