Double check my shopping list...
Ok, first time I ever changed oil.... Could you please tell me if I'm missing something
4 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30
Fram Extra Guard Filter (PH7317, I'm assuming the filter for the D17A1 is the same as the D17A2)
Oil drip pan (the thing you drain oil into)
Strap type filter wrench
rubber gloves
Already have a jack and stands if needed
Is that everything I need? if not, please add what I'm missing, thanks!

oh yea, and your strap filter might not fit/strap onto the stock oil filter. I had to use one of those big plumbers wrench thingy the first time because it was on so tight.
My second and third oil change i had to use all my might getting it off with my hands and ummmmm.........I think thats all. Good luck.

What ^he^ said, but you're gonna hafta get it from the Honda dealer. It shouldn't be more than a buck. You *can't* reuse these things as it's a crush washer. You take out the bolt and the washer is gonna be all mashed out.
edit: Also, when you install your new filter and plug, turn it 1/4 turn past tight. Any farther and you'll end up stripping it out and then you're looking at replacing your oil pan.

Alright thanks guys.... I'll just buy a bunch of these washers so I don't have to go up there and get one every single time. I think I have a Monkey wrench downstairs, but if not, how much is this "Honda wrench" they talk about in the manual?
One more question... I was reading the manual again, it doesn't say anything about a washer with the filter... Just with the drain bolt. Is this what the lock washer is for? or is the manual missing something?
