Racing Gloves?
Do you guys know of any good racing gloves? I was driving in the mountains this past weekend and my hands were all sweaty and gross. I need gloves for better grip of the steering wheel and shifter and e-brake. Anyone know of any with a good reputation? I don't need anything but grip. No flame retardand gloves! No really long gloves! Ones that come up to the wrist are fine. Maybe even ones with cut off fingers? What's good? What's not? Who's uses them? Share anything and everything that I need to know before making a purchase. Thank you in advance...

OMP, Momo, Sparco... Those are all good
There's also deerskin driving gloves that are quite comfortable... Bavarian Autosport has them, but I'm sure you could find them cheaper...
If you're cheap, go buy a pair of soccer goalie gloves... They won't slip....

What do you guys think of these? Simpson Wrenchers Gloves
Technically they're not for racing, but I don't need flame retardant materials. Maybe soccer gloves or football gloves are a good idea? I could at least try them on in a sports store before buying. Fit and feel is the most important thing after all...

Dude...i have these gloves called "Sandman Gloves" for football...i put them on while i was driving...so much stick...get some...they're amazing...they're good because i play tight end so i need to catch..and that extra sticky helps..haha
uh ok, Grey your civic has 115 HP, trust me you do not need "racing gloves" if you have the need to wear gloves while driving, do so during the fall and winter seasons, by wearing gloves like the ones from Bavarian Motorsport.

Like I said, I drove in the mountains for an extended period of time and my hands were getting all sweaty and the skin on my hands was peeling! Especially my right hand. Ew... I want racing gloves to have a better grip on everything during these kinds of conditions. If you've never pushed yourself hard enough to warrant the use of driving gloves, then don't complain about how weak our car's engine is. Also, please watch Initial D. Grey the Simpson Wrenchers Gloves you picked out are great. I had a pair I used on a regular basis with a previous car, they always kept the grip and my hands never get sweaty like they did with the sparco gloves.

Thanks Simpson! Hey, you probably did a search for "Simpson" and found this thread, right?
I found another brand of gloves. I think I'll go with these: Mechanix Wear Original 0.5mm Clarino® Gloves

I saw some gloves at a website once for $1,000! That's amazing.
Sorry, Grey, I've never used gloves before so I don't know.

lol, someone has soft hands! I don't even have power steering and I was fine! Then again, I play a lot of violin and move a lot of heavy things at work, so I guess my hands are a little tougher...
The mechanix gloves work nicely and you can get them at autozone...bright colours too!

Autozone? You know if there's one near me? I would prefer a walk-in store so that I could buy the right size gloves. Interface is the most important thing, it should be taken care of first when modifying a car.
Edit #1: Found one very close to me. Bought the gloves. Pictures coming soon...
