turbo kits are now available......wow
i just got word from turbo-performance.com that they have a working turbo kit for our cars using a garret t3 turbo. the turbo is rated for 400 horses but on stock injectors....is recommended to run at 5 psi.....the kit costs 3,600 dollars and he hasnt told me the whp gains yet.
as soon as he does I will be back in touch

*HAND BRAKE!!!!!!* Say what?!!!!!!!! Did you just say that our cars would be able to get 400 hp with that turbo? To the wheels at the flywheel...I don't care, that's just sweet!!!!!!! You have any idea what 400 hp would be like in a little car like ours? BMW M3 killer... Dude, I hope you aren't jiving us, lol. That's just too cool. We'll see, we'll see. Cheers to you for finding it.
i think you guys need to crawl out from under that rock you've been under.. a couple members already have this turbo-kit. 400hp may be the possibility.. but you'll spend a helluva lot more than 4,000 trying to get your d17 to that. I'd expect 60-80whp on stock internals at the most.

foreals where have you guys been... this has been out for atleast a month now... albert(aka the fiber images car), hitek and moocow all got their turbos done there... moocow was running the 5 psi that was recommended.. they are just waiting for internals to come out to run a higher boost. i heard internals were supposed to come out by the end of this year so...
I just emailed them to find out if this includes non-VTEC engins for us LX, and DX drivers. I am fairly certain that it should included both. since the internals will be different for the different engins, the kit may differ a little. Not totaly sure so don't quote me on that. I will post when I get a reply. I have been under a rock actually. Damn heavy one too!

here is the low down on the kit. everything you need intercooled at 3,600. that is everything. i talked to bob at turbo performance and the kit is real. i am currently working on that kit for my car. but i am not purchasing the whole kit from them i am conversing withNUMBERoneHONDA about everything. he has the kit on his car. the kit comes with a t3 but i know that i can lower the price by getting my own t3. bob told me to expect around 60 hps on the stock internals. that is with no more that 5 pounds of boost. says the rods are paper then and wouldnt suggest boostin more than that. said that the motor could handle more, but not for long. LS rods will work in our cars, but need to be machined just a little for fit on the crank. so with an intercooled t3 you are lookin at a nice little setup and has the potential to empress when the internals for our car come out on the market
I'd pay the money for that kit.. it's nice.. I've seen it myself. You're paying for potential... just remember that. For internals.. I know a good place that can do it custom right now. Go to www.honda-performance.com

yes it is very true.... moocow had a t4 turbo in a t3 casing.. i guess the t4 didnt fit or something.. oh and yes he had an LX... as for alberts car, not sure but its an automatic... so this gives both LX owners and automatic owners a chance...
You can get this kit with an intercooler setup for under $3000 from NUMBERoneHONDA he knows the guys at www.turbo-performance.com.

dish out all the details when you get them!!!!!!!!
well, i dont know about all you people, but if you plan on piecing the kit together yourself, you better know what your doing. you can get your own T3/T4 turbine/compressor, but if its used, you're prolly wanna get it rebuilt. as for gettin your own turbo manifold, i highly reject that idea. get the manifold from TURBO PERFORMANCE. they custom make the manifolds with good quality work and they even come polished. and remember to all TURBO enthusiasts, your gonna have to have your ECU reprogrammed...
*drools*
That's it then, I'm saving up for this then ..
If I save the money I would normally spend on food, then i should be able to get this by Christmas!

the kit is only rated for 400 horses by the way....to get that output......you would have to modify just about everything under the valve cover.......i got pics finally tho http://www.7thgencivic.com/members_rides/member.cfm?id=7572
