sri and cai question

I live in San Francisco where it is always foggy and the roads get pretty wet. I want the extra hp of a cai, but also the security of an air bypass valve. I have a 2k2 dx auto coupe. For that model AEM isnt selling the cai, only the sri. I am aware that injen sells it but i dont feel safe without an air bypass valve. So will the LX model fit? What should i do? Thanx for helpin out a noob.

1973 is an unknown quantity at this point
my advice would be f-uck the SRI, your car will sound "cool", but that's about it......a cai is your best bet for HP, but for some reason i don't think they work well with A/T, i could be wrong, but i think i read that somewhere (i know sh-it about A/T).....wait for the K&N drop in.....(someone pls. explain the cai/at thing)....thanx

You can get the Injen CAI , then cut it and install an AEM 2.5" bypass valve.

So to make it fit i would cut out about 2.5" of the pipe where the valve would go, and install it there? Im okay with that idea, still wondering if the cai for the other autos would physically fit?

Someone said you have to cut the pipe and install the AEM bypass valve at least 1ft about from the throttle something. I would cut it below the battery's tray.. far away from everything.
