no you don't need a bypass valve a an sri intake.....because it doesnt extend further down behind the bumper where the cai does, the cai has the possibility to be submerged under water whereas the sri does not, so you do not need a bypass valve for a sri because it wont suck up water

bypass valves are fer cold air's where there's a risk of ingesting water.

you can use the K&N filter recharge kits on the filters. the kit cleans the filters up but i've heard that the chemicals in the recharge kit can get sucked up and the chemicals may end up lining the engine n'stuff - but thats just what i've heard.

Why pay the bucks for a new filter, when you can clean and oil a K&N and it will last 1,000,000 miles?

Welp, I sucked it up and ordered an AEM SRI for my ride just a bit ago. I have seen it as cheap as $196 + $9 s/h @ Import Horizon, but I'm not too sure how reliable they are. I just ordered mine from cartunerz.com because they price-match and they're a little more reliable. Cost me $205 shipped from Cali. It should be here in 7-10 business. Very excited!

the day that someone gets water into their SRI is the day i die of laughter. hahaha

but for low prices on intakes, go to speedandstyle.com , rsversion.com , optonline.com , and do a search, because the are lots of threads that describe the topic of intakes...at length.

haha unless there is a massive hole in the top of your hood, i think the car's electrical would short out and fry before you suck water into your SRI

Just let it dry before you put it back on.
