Hood pins on CF hood, yay or nay?

After hearing about Pedrito's accident I am a bit concerned. Are they absolutely required to keep the hood from flying off? Anyone on the board been driving around with a CF hood and no hood pins for any amount of time? Am I taking a gamble with the odds not in my favor by not using hood pins?

i dont think hood pins look all too sharp. i say his case is a one in a million type deal, never heard of it or saw it happen before. no matter what anyone says, what you do to comfort your mind is on you.

unless I had it custom manufactured for me, or it came from a reputable Honda tuner...Spoon, Mugen, etc. I would never use a CF hood for daily driving, especially without pins. But if you must please use pins while they will not completely prevent what happened to Pedrito (A manufacturing flaw) they would keep you safer in that situation, they're a small price to pay for safety of mind, and I think they don't look bad.

I've heard of cf hoods flying off quite a few times before. I just ordered some sparco hood pins for myself. I'll hook you up for about 25 bucks. I won't lie, you can find off brand pins cheaper.. but you get what you pay for.

its better to have some pins in instead of having your hood hit your windshield....

i like the look of hood pins, after i got my hoodpins installed, my friend with a silver lx got it done on his stock hood, because he liked the way it looked on my car

and they are only about 15 bucks, and it would save you a lot of worries

if i do decided to get a C.F hood i think imma get hood pins...safer that way...i;d rather spend 15 dollars more just to make sure that 300-500 dollar hood dont fly off and get destroyed...by the way...does anyone here think that a silver civic wit a black carbon fiber hood looks tacky...
