I'm not sure about taking the wax off.....but I know dishwasher soap is NO GOOD for the paint and clear coat....I wouldnt mess w/ it if I were you. You can just get like one time soap for a car wash for like $.75 at like a gas station and just use a towel at home.
Good Luck

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...NO DISH SOAP ON THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!! It is no good for your clear-coat. Dirt is even better than dish soap for a clear coat (to a certain extent). Just mooch off a friend, and wait for some money.

(That's not as bad as my friend who washed his WHOLE car with Windex. Bye bye wax, clearcoat, sun protectant, rust preventer. Hello new paint job )

For the love of God!!!!! who in their right mind washes a car with windex???!!!! did your friend just assume that it was okay or did somebody play a cruel joke on his a$$ by saying it was okay to do so?

Well my sophomore year, i took a class called car care...I actually learned a lot. And one of the first things we learned was not using dish soap to wash your car =)

Just FYI

Cheers

No wonder it's called dish soap and not car wash soap... interesting discovery here.
