ATTN: Everyone with OEM bodykit

Ok, first off, before all of you flame me, I did do a search on this. I have a question regarding the OEM sideskirts on the 2dr civic. I had them put on my car awhile back when I bought it and one was scratched. I went today and had the new ones put on and noticed that they now come with what I would say is a rubber gasket between the sideskirt and the car. The gasket is black and is very noticeable. My question is this: Is this gasket on anyone elses? I know it is a good protector...do I really need it? I just don't think I like the way it looks! Please, anyone with an OEM bodykit please respond. Thanks!

THe rubber gasket is there so as no water leaks into the skirts, therefore causing rust... most likely a "good" shop that installs bodykits will slap some polyurethane between the skirt and body so as body rust dun occur

theres a shop down here that will coat the inside of a FG bumper you bring in with urethane when they install it... that's what i call service no charge...or it might be in the price but it's still decent
