It's doens't add HP my friend... it's just so that you can hit the VTEC at the rpm you set it at... just hope you don't get flamed by anyone else

yes i will refrain from flamming. a vtec controller adjusts at what rpm vtec engages.

on the lx, people use the safc, which doesn't have the vtec controller, it just does fuel ratio's. on the ex, i here the vtec controlling function on the vafc doesn't work with our cars "ex" yet, something about the engine light coming on and resetting the ecm "aka ecu".

so then, what's so beneficial about SAFC? is it worth the money spent?

the benefit is that you can set it to have a higher fuel/air ratio, which i hear people have gotten .4sec faster in a 1/4 mile.

for those of you who think that the V-AFC or S-AFC do not add HP, WTF are you thinking? the gains are not going to be substantial...but 1-2HP for sure, maybe more if you have access to a DYNO and professional tuning help......

it is very hard, from what i hear, to get the V(VTEC) portion to work w/ our engines.....but the S-AFC (Super Air Fuel Controller) seems like a good investment for our cars (DX, LX, and EX).....

the more engine mods you have (intake, header, exhaust) woudl probably be means for more HP gains w/ a S-AFC

its definitly worth the cash, it took time of my quarter mile and it looks cool as hell. when im working, people are constantly walking by my car and then doing a double take to look at the vafc and wonder what it does.

The VTEC-AFC doesn't just control when vtech kicks in, it also works just like all the other air/fuel ratio controllers. Its best to have it installed and then calibrated the way you desire on a dyno. That way it is done correctly and you can see the hp gains you can get by having a rich or lean mixture.
