JDM Civic Ferio
Honda.co.jp
ディスチャージヘッドライト
(ハイ/ロービーム)
Thats in Japanese. Can somebody translate? Its under the picture of the headlights in the link. Theres a blue shade on the headlights...could it be HID? Or is it just an option for amber corners?
Thanks

IuSEDtOrIDEtHEmTAb4mY2K1 i doubt that you are going to need only the headlight housing and bulb. They are called HIGH Intensity Discharge, so you have to boost the power to them I would think. I don't know call Japan and ask them.

If I remember right, isn't HID more than just a new headlight housing and bulbs? I thought it was pretty tough to convert regular lighting systems to HID systems. (I haven't exactly been following this HID lingo too much.)

it's advised to have hid lens/housing, the bulb, and the ballista kit and all the wire goodies

The JDM HID is optional equipment right?
If so, if I buy it from the dealer, wouldn't I be getting the same materials that come with the HID conversion kits sold on Ebay (i.e. bulbs, wiring, ballast, etc.)?
There quite a few people there who did a HID conversion bought from Ebay. Although its recommend they get new lens (i.e. from an Audi A6), they just installed it on their stock headlights or the projectors. They seem to be pretty happy with the results. I know some get real technical and complain about the reflectors are off and the light pattern and such but as long as its BRIGHT and it lights the road in front of me, I'd be happy.
So I think Im going to ask my mother to purchase the HID kit from the dealer if the price is reasonable.
I think getting a kit from Ebay would be easier but I also think buying from the dealer would yield a better fit.
