Rep Power: 0 Heater Blower Motor -1998 Aerodeck
Hello. I have a 1998 HONDA CIVIC AERODECK 1.6i ES. It is the 5-door estate version. My Heater Blower Motor brushes have burnt out, meaning I have no heat/fan/air-conditioning.With Autumn/Winter coming I am getting worried as I cannot seem to locate a Heater Blower Motor for my model. Would anyone out there know where I can purchase one ? E-Bay, Amazon, Breakers Yards in my area of Basingstoke have not been any help.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback at all. I really like my car and would hate to see it 'go under' due to this.
Many thanks, in advance.
Anthony Selby.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Heater Blower Motor -1998 Aerodeck
That site has a parts catalog that covers most countries on your side of the planet.........
look up your exact car and find a Honda part number for the blower motor, see if it's still available through the dealerships?
Google that part number?
Are you positive your fan motor is bad, not the power transistor or something else? (I have no idea which system your car would be equipped with)

The garage tells me it is the brushes that have burnt out, which happens over time, and my car is from 1998.

Re: Heater Blower Motor -1998 Aerodeck
Just saying, there's several things involved in operating the fan motor that could cause it to quit working. I like to test things for myself (I'm a tech). I'd connect a test light to the fan motor connector and make sure it lights up, that can quickly confirm power and ground are present.
Sometimes when a fan motor is bad you can tap the bottom of the motor with your palm or foot and it may run for a short while.
Is your garage unable to source a replacement motor?

The garage said they couldn't. I wasn't impressed so won't be going back there.
