strut stopper?

my friend just lowered his 7thgen by 2 inches with intrax springs? from my experience here, i told him he would need new struts, because the factory struts will go. but he claims that his won't because they modified the shock stopper by trimming it a bit. but i am a bit weary of what he said. especially then he told me he could get a rsx type-r engine put into his car for 2500

so anyway, is what he said true?

I don't think so.

He might be talking about the bump stops. Cutting those in half will give the suspension a bit more travel. Of coarse more traval equals a smoother ride and maybe a smaller chance of blowing a strut. I would say at a 2" drop his stock dampers are gonna go sooner than later.
