i got a 2012 civic sedan lx. the trunk is discontinued but theres is one that fits the 2012-14. the main difference is that the 12' didnt have inner tail lights. and the new replacement trunk does. now i also have to replace the hinges. but im having trouble figuring out wether to put the 12' hinges, or the 13'-14'. the part numbers are similar but not exactly the same and i am wondering if it makes a big difference.

part number for:
2013: 68660TR6A00ZZ, 68610TR6A00ZZ
2012: 68660TR0A00ZZ, 6810TR0A00ZZ

the only differece is the TR0-TR6. but idk how big a difference that is or what that stands for.

The 12 LX trunk lid # 68500-TR3-A90ZZ fits 2012 EX/LX/GX sedan, it IS available through Honda.
I'd stick to the hinges used on the 12.....

I have no idea why there would be a difference between hinges on a US vs. Japan built cars though.
I have no idea what differences in the hinges would be for a 13 car either.
I also don't have any available to compare side by side either.
