Honda civic 2001 chipped crank pulley shaft/Woodruff key
I went to the dealer and they told me that they'll re-align the woodruff key and the pulley to fix it temporarily and that my best bet is to buy a new engine to solve the problem, which going to cost me probably the price of the car
.
Did anyone have a similar problem?
If yes, how did they fix it?
If no, how can I solve the problem without replacing the engine so I can at least drive the car without worrying about this problem for the next 9 months or so
?

Thanks y'all in advance!!

Re: Honda civic 2001 chipped crank pulley shaft/Woodruff key
I'm not an engine expert but I'll chime in to help a fellow 7th gener.
My car needed a head gasket replacement last year. Long story short, my mechanic didn't tighten the crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer on tight and it ended up falling off the car.
The threading on it was warped and the woodruff key obviously lost. I got a replacement from a junkyard for $70 including the key. I would go that route. Could have gotten it even cheaper online, but I needed it quickly.
