They need them to be programable. That would be cool as $hit if you had a keyboard and could type different things to show up like:

you know, they probably just opened up the spoiler and disconnected the leds they didn't want to turn on. i don't think it's a program to turn them on or anything.

i saw something like that a few years back on tv... there were some buttons on the stearing wheel... so if you cut someone off, you would push a button and it would say Sorry! or if someone let you pass you'd push another one and it'd say Thank You!

don't really see the need for something like that, but what the heck...
