Tanabe Racing Medallion Exhaust System
Anyone know if this product has been released yet for our cars. A friend of mine has one on his 99 SI-R and its just plain incredible how nice it sounds! And i do mean the entire cat back kit, not just the muffler, or a cheap imitation. I think i've read about the hyper medallion being available, but what about the racing medallion? I've finally put some cash together and it comes down to doing an exhaust, which i dont think i'll do if the racing medallion isnt out yet <its SO definately the one i want!>, or adding an R.F. punch 700x4 amp for my mids and highs and possibly an injen CAI if i have anything left.......

According to what I know, Tanabe Racing Medallion won't be available for our 2001 Civic, but the good news is Super Racing Medallion will replace the Racing Med and it is an improvement of RM. The Super R has race spec with 60/100 straight piping design and it is 40% lighter than any other aftermarket catback exhaust system. For example, the Greddy Evo catback is approx. 100 lbs, Tanabe Super R is estimately 60 lbs. Thus the Tanabe Super R weight/hp/$$$ ratio is out beat any other competitive brands. It should be on sale at www.groupbuycenter.com by May for $500-$550 shipped, search word is Tanabe. In my opinion,
Super R all the way baby, because it will help my car to squezze out all the hp juice. Performance, agressive look and loud/deep tone is how I like it.

Thos are awful heavy systems. Not sure where you got your specs but the magnaflow cat-back weight like 35lbs in the box with all the shipping materials. And I highly doublt the greddy weighs 100lbs.
Arrrrgh!! I'm gonna freak, I keep seeing this topic and it just makes me jones even more for this exhaust. C'mon Tanabe, speed up production a little allready. I like it simply cause it has a nice tone, puts out awesome power, and weighs less than most other exhaust systems. What more could one ask for???? I'll tell ya, the frickin release date to hurry the hell up!!!!
ok look...here's the skinny on tanabe.....i've spoke with them about any of the exhaust's that are going to be put out for our vic's......by mid august the Racing and the Hyper medallions are going to be out. and i saw someone here write about how heavy tanabe exhaust's are...that's pretty funny considering they use a .12mm stainless for their system's......about 40% lighter then the avg. exhaust system out there......i just wanted those of you that want this exhaust to be informed correctly as apposed to everyone just saying what they think.......i'll post if i find anything else out...

i talked to a rep on the phone and he told me that it should come out in mid-august b/c they were having trouble with sound emissions being to loud and now the are planing on going with a complete stainless system so now i have to wait till mid august just to get an exhaust now if it doesn't come out then i might just have to go with the hks axle back. but thats what he said and thats what i'm telling you.
