I am considering wheels (15") for my car. Can't figure out the offset thing. Help please.

Basically offset is how far your rim is going to be from your hub. But it is kinda backwards because a 40mm offset sticks further out them 42 mm so the bigger the offset the more sunk in your rim will be and th smaller the offset the the more your rim will stick out. Average offset for a 2k1 civic is 40-42mm. Hope that helps, by the way what kind of rims are you thinking about?

With 15's I think you want a 38 - 40 offset. With 16's you want a 40 offset. Anything larger and it's 40 - 45 for the offset. It's basically based off the width. Most 15's are 6.5" wide, 16's are 7" wide, 17's usually 7" wide, 18's usually 7 - 7.5" wide.
If I remember it correctly.

Thanks for the info. I have not decided on what rims yet....any suggestions? 15X7 polished is kinda what I have been lookin' at.
