BodyKits, what to get?

I have been searching all over the place for bodykits for the 2001 Civic. Lots of them look really awsome. but do to the fact that our cars aren't the first choice for "Rice Racing" i don't want to put on an extreme kit like the Octane or Buddy Club style. I checked at Benen Industries, the make Carbon Fibre hoods etc.... the website said that they make a front lip for the 2001 civic. I have email the rep for a picture and some info to make sure that it isn't a typo. this is exactly what i am looking for. if they don't make it then i am going to have to search else where. i don't particularly need the CF but the bodykit that i want is like a lip style application. just something to accent the smooth lines of the civic. What do you guys think? where can i find something like i am looking for?

Thanks for the help

Well, if you're looking for something that's not out of this world, you could just go with the OEM kit. Don't buy any kit that's made of fiberglass, cuz it won't last past your next oil change. Polyurethane all the way baby! Razzi has a kit out for the civic that's got a pretty prominent lip, and Kaminari's kit looks nice as well. It all depends on whether you have a coupe or a sedan. Concord is very close to Charlotte (used to live there), so you should have no problem finding shops in your area that can get you ANYTHING you want. Also, haven't already, scroll to the top of the site and click on the "parts" link for a listing of EVERY AVAILABLE PART for our cars. There is a body kit and component listing along with the manufacturer and usually a weblink. That's just my interpretation, but Idunno: YOU be the judge.

In my opinion, Octane front bumper is pretty good when you combine with wingwest side skirt and rear bumper. But, Since octane is a fiberglass, I didn't go for it. Therefore I'm using the OEM body kit.

i dont know who or where you got your info, but i talked to BENEN last week and they said they do not have anything available for the 01-02 civics yet. if u want a body kit, but not too flashy, just get the OEM lip kit...
and if that is too suttle for you, then start searchin the different body kits. Kaminari has a very nice lip kit that isnt too extreme, yet draws attention. theres also the option of mix-n-match'n different pieces from different kits. thats what im doin! g'luck

If you're looking for non-wild, but a clean kit definitely go for OEM or even Kaminari cuz that looks nice but still isn't too wild. Mix 'n' matching isn't that bad an idea, i did that myself and i'm very pleased with the results. If you want a wild-looking civ then you should check out xenon, wings west, ViS, and see if you want an entire kit from one brand or combine parts that you like. happy hunting

Octane is another one to check out. I am ordering the kaminari kit tom. If u ask me i would say go with the razzi front and the kaminari sides and rear.

just my opinion here but i want the aggressive look, it fits my personality and style and the only tight agressive kits ive seen happen to be good ole fiberglass, personally i think the urethane ones look so retarded. They r to simple, if it fits u by all means get it cause it is ur car and id HATE to get fiberglass cause Lord knows i be missing them speed bumps.....but ive yet to see a urethane kit that just yelled out to other cars and said "Kiss my A$$!!"

i could be wrong...but so far i feel im right

pearlhonda, I have the wings west avenger front and let me tell you, that urethane bumper is nothing short of the ish. Plus, you can't tell me that's not aggressive....well, even if it doesn't float your boat happy hunting

ill look again Jon, maybe im lookin at the wrong ones cause especially the Kaminari kit, people been postin left and right bout it but what i saw i just couldnt stand......i dunno, maybe im just THAT picky. I think the Evo and the BW 1-2 kits look mean, there was another one i liked but for heaven sakes i cant remember but i think they r fiberglass sux......ill keep lookin but ive just been very disappointed.

The octane, like everyones says, looks good but the thing that stops them from going further is that it is made of Fiberglass. It looks really well, but if you live in a state with bumpy roads or potholes. . your kinda out of luck. The buddy kit looks really good on a civic, but yet again, its fiberglass. Does anyone know weather if it can come in Urethane?

thats what i mean, i think ALL the tight kits i like r fiber, the urethanes havent impressed me at all. I live in Mississippi, King of country a$$ roads but i NEVER drive on them, dont like the dust storm that envelopes my car. The streets arent TOO bad but my retarded a$$ misses speed bumps all the time so if i go fiber i need to REALLY pay attention.

I think the tsunami front bumper has a mean look and I believe its urethane, but the side skirts and back bumper don't look as aggressive. Thats what I plan to get, but I'm looking for sides and rear bumper to match the look of the front bumper better.

i called GROUND DESIGNS (makers of BW and BW2) and asked them bout there kits which r fiberglass and told them all the bad news i heard. Now im just stating what he said but he said they have double the fiberglass in there kits, his words "Most kits have only 3 ounces of fiberglass while we have 6 in ours"

Told me if u get bumped yada yada it wont crack, its very durable....said if i ramped the street and flew into a ditch....THEN ya it would crack. Ive always liked the G.D kits and i do feel better bout them now but then again he could be telling me what i wanted to hear but just thought id pass it along to my Honda Family

i called Benen Industries, and they said that they are back ordered (do to the Sport Compact Car article) and the 2001+ Civic front lip won't be available until mid-June or something. I am going to wait for that, cause i think it looks bad ***. it is just a simple carbon fibre front lip but it is just what i want. i am also going to get the OEM side and rear skirts. Simple and cool.

And if anyone is looking for that article in Sport Compact Car it is the April 2002 issue.
The are doing a Project EG civic build up. Complete with B18C engine and the works.
SCC gave Benen high cudos for their carbon fibre products. Great article, if your looking
for good quality CF hood then you should check out www.benen.com
