clear tail lights

anybody know if clear tail lights will ever be available for the 7th gen. civic? i'm not talking about the altezza or euro style. the non-street legal clears are what i'm looking for...

anybody else agree that the altezza style lights are getting played out? no offense to anybody that has them or want them because they do look nice, but i think it's time for something new again.

You're right, you won't be able to drive your car anywhere if you don't have a red reflector. I don't think anyone is going to make them because of that very reason. You HAVE to have a red reflector in the rear, not just a red bulb. I don't think it's worth the hassle....

altezza's are played out n i never really liked them. well besides the IS 300 ones. but ya i always wanted clear tails untill my car got rear ended n was considered a total loss. if i did have cleared tails, i probably wouldn't have seen any of my money so even if they do come out i probably wont get em. n f*ck the police, it's probably just a fix-it ticket anyways. i am considering candying them(making them a really really dark color, almost black looking) tho. but ya not sure on how to do that. some older cars have their tails like this stock so i'm sure it'll be fine.

around here, u can tell which car is driven by a teen by looking at the headlights(fake hid) and tail (alyezzas) it's so sad, that i would spend the 470 for the true hid just to shut them up

Instead of altezza's, I would prefer some red/clear tailights! It would make the car look different and it looks really clean.

I don't care for the whole clear look anyways, nor the carbon fiber thing. I like what pimpdakota did on his car--looks like a staff car for the Japanese Mafia. I'd like to see a taillight kit that is all black with just round lenses and reflectors or whatever. I like the tail end of the Dodge Stratus a lot. Eventually I'll get the projectors that pimpdakota got, too. But on a black car like I have, the clear stuff just looks contrived. Probably doesn't matter, because if Dodge ever makes the Razor, I'm getting that anyway.

MOKUSHI,

You have good taste. I'm waiting for someone to make the exact same style. This style or even the late 6th gen civic red clear style would be good.

Yeah I would like a set for car shows since that is how they used to be. But yeah you could probably get them over in Japan I know people that have had to order them from there since no one really makes them here anymore. But yeah people still have all clear tails here with red bulbs.

all you'd really have to do to make some clear tails would be to buy a set of alteezas and then take out the red inserts. they're not that hard to take apart, i had to to dry out my apc's cause they leaked, and re siliconed them, but didnt take out the red inserts, its just a matter of if you want to take the time to do it, or pay someone to do it for you.

..i would actually like taillights that are half white half red. kinda like the aftermarket ones for an accord sedan. the top half is cleared and the bottom half is red. ..yeah..i'd like something like that foro ur taillights.

if you want to candy them, you can paint them with clear candy grape paint. testors makes it. i guess try a local hobby place. its dark, almost black, but its a really dark clear purple that they make. ive heard of combining this with the clear black to get an even darker color. i saw a how-to for some make of car where they used this stuff, may have been a newer impala SS. looked really nice.

as for those benz style taillights, you could make them yourself, but youd have to find clear taillights. if you can find them, just mask off too strips like on the benz, and spray the rest of it red. remove the tape or whatever you use to mask it, and youd have to clear strips. same thing with half red and clear. mask off one half and paint the other half red.

Yeah I still have clear taillights for my 88 Civic too bad I couldn't find that company and get them to give me some clear ones that would be cool to play with but yeah that Mercedes look would be sweet.

i wanted to make a comment to "voiceofid", thats wrong that you underclass teenagers as doing that, i am 19 and been in to hondas since i was 15, i can tear down to my crank and back and i tought myself with a book, because your older and maybe make more money to buy hids makes you no better. So what i cant afford HIDS and i put the imitations if thats what i like then it shouldnt bother you, and i am sorry that you dont like altezzas, if we were side by side at a stop light when i am gone your gonna have to look at them. No hostility i judt didnt like the way that you said you can tell their teenagers.
