Rep Power: 0 have the OBX Bomb B5 with the silencer. Cutom cat-back with 2.25 pipe. I had to get a resonator put in cause it was SOO loud. Now when I roll with the silencer in it sounds nice and mellow, but with it out it sounds like the supra from F&F. The only thing is, with the silencer out it echos soo loud inside the car. You can tell the difference with exhaust by trying this. sit out of gear and rev your motor from 800 (idle) to 6800 (red line). By just flooring it straight from the idle. Do that with stock exhaust and do it again with your new set-up. you can see how much faster the tach runs up. To me that was cool.

Rep Power: 0 << thats a resonator, not a silencer. >>
Isn't the whole point of a resonator to lower the noise level. I guess, you are saying that the silencer he is talking about is something more easily removed and installed. Please enlighten me on exactly what a silencer looks like and where it is located in the system.

Rep Power: 0 a silencer is the thing that screws into the very end of the muffler and a resonator is a wide piece of pipe in the middle of the actual pipe that catches the exhaust sound waves and causes them to cancel each other out therefore making the exhaust more quiet

Rep Power: 0 The magnaflow Cb doesn't come with a silencer.....The system is tuned to deliver good (not ricey loud) sound to begin with....there is a screw in type silencer available by Magnaflow...it only fits into a 4" ID tip though...it's used to tone down universal applications, esp. when a resonator is eliminated...
Mbow......hows your catback??????
