i am getting into the import scene, thinking about getting a 2002 dx civic coup 2 door, how much aftermarket support is there for the car?
i will want a nice turbo setup in the future
handling and suspension mods
light wieght stuff
light wieght body kits (for wieght reduction and looks)
other engine mods
laptop tunable aftermarket computer/ecu

how is the situation now, and how will it get compared to other imports in the near future
also how much potential does the 1.6L non vtec engine have, should i get the vetc one? (planning for turbo, and small nitrous kit)

basically i want eventually a 12 sec reliable street car

You want to start with a DX. Not going to find alot of aftermarket support.

ok first of all its 1.7 not 1.6 and yes get the vtec (ex) , and a body kit is not going to do any kind of weight reduction , o and as far as the turbo goes , its not out yet but it will be sooner or later[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] hope i could help. and yes they have chips out

ex has more parts and power.


if you want a large selection of parts go for the 99-2000 si

o and there are quite a few engine mods and theyre coming out with more all the time and there are lots of handling and suspension mods so far

thanks, will vtec help a lot with a turbo? its +.5 compression wont help, but pistons can be replaced, most of the ex's features i dont want, especially the extra 150 pounds and 3000$ price tag [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

i just liek my ex for all around lil options that others dotn have but maybe its just me, cause my freind got an lx and hes always bitchin about lil stuff on my car

My friend has a dx and i have an ex and he envys me 24/7 You just wont find the support for a dx the way u will with an ex. Ya its alittle more but i personally feel its worth it my friend, especially since u want to be active in the import scene a dx will make that REAL short.........so much more for a ex. get the VTEC
