I have decided to go with a custom turbo....I will tell all of you how it is when it is actually all complete. Which do you guys think is faster off the line. supercharger or turbo? I keep on hearing supercharger but i wanna know what u guys think. Hopefully when this car is turbo it will actually be able to compete with some other cars!

Umm if you really did have all those cars i would assume that you take them to the track and would know that a supercharger is faster generally off the line because turbos have turbo lag. Of course it all depends on how many psi of boost your running wich you should know all about because you have a supra and a wrx and im sure you have boost controllers in your cars if you really have them. Now getting back to my original point, Turbochargers have turbo lag because it takes time for them to spool up, therefor like I said a supercharger would be faster off the line.
If you were wandering why i said that about the civic, well just think about it. You got a beautiful and beastly car in the supra. And another bad @$$ car in the WRX. Don't get me wrong, I love my car and it looks sweet, but come on a Supra AND a WRX.

Cowboy has too much money on his hands i think, different mentality than the rest of us. Although supraman has money and a 7th gen civic, odd. This is all very odd. Anyway, supercharger is technically faster off the line because a turbo has to spool up, but a supercharger also runs off of the crank shaft, so it robs the engine of power. It's tough to tell really. I think it depends on the engine as well. I bet with bigger engines that's true, but with ours who knows?
i'll just second what psuedo christ said.........if you own a tt supra and a wrx, you know all about turbo's and lag...etc....also....i tell ya, people on this site are getting stranger by the second.....check out this wack in gen. ramblings complaining that his civic is too slow because it got spanked by a GSR with NOS......iam not sure how much more of this i can take

<< What do you mean I have to much money? You are telling me that you wouldn't rather have a Twin Turbo Supra or a WRX than a civic (if you had the money). You are crazy not to. >>
I was just referring to the fact that you have a fairly hooked up ride. Sure, I would rather have a WRX than my civic. Too bad it cost so much though. It's still the best bang for the buck though.
Edit: Nevermind, I think I'm going insane. I was thinking about a member named MooCoW.

Hey,
Thats cool about the whole turbo thing....but just be prepared to show us that you have it, because I believe if people do not tell the truth on things like this, the person will lose credibility and respect in this forum. And people will always remember.

if you want to cutom turbo charge your car you have to have forged pistons, rods, and valve springs, cam shaft, blah blah blah, and i think that is good for about 300 to 350 horsepower, then the installation of the cutom turbo. then if you have all that power, you have to make your transmition better. you won't be going past 7 psi of boost. all together you will pay about 10 g's.... i wish i had 10 g's...
but you will be getting 11- 12 's on a 1/4 mile estamated

Yeah...here's a though...how about posting "Custom turbo finished w/ pics" instead of "~Oh JOY! Getting turbo!~". Everybody's full of bs these days.
Hey dude, thats a nice list of cars there...which ones is ur chick magnet? The Mr. T van!!?!?!
Oh and a custom turbo should cost around $4000, and you should maybe get an extra 75 ponies (haha mustang talk) or so. Sorry HondaLuver

when you have an automatic, you don't loose boost when you change gears, boost is equal to horse power, when you shift gears with a manual, you let go of the boost (blow off valve) when you shift or let of the throttle. Automatics don't have blow off valves, so you don't loose boost. trust me, i know somebody with a 800 horsepower auto.
