Rep Power: 0 Other D-Series parts swapping?
Our D17A's have the same bore (75mm) as the D16 motors, so I wonder if the pistons from the previous D16 motor will work in our engines? Maybe they have a different quench area, but some machine work and I bet they fit. As well, I wonder how much different the valve train is, and I wonder when someone is gonna swap a D16 head onto a D17A block, cause then you could have cams, p+p, springs, and all the fun head stuff done, as well a intake manifold with the TB facing the side (62mm aftermarket one), fuel rail, injectors, so there are no wild 90 degree bends in the intake piping. Any gear heads have any answers?

Rep Power: 0 he's not talkin about doing a whole engine swap. the pistons idea sounds kinda good but i have no idea about compatiblity. as for the head, i'd stick with our 1.7 IMO

Rep Power: 0 Will a Type-R motor fit in my 2001 Civic???????
Nah man, im just wondering if the pistons will work, for FI applications, forged pistons are the best way to go, and it seems no companies are making anything for the 7th gen internally.

Rep Power: 0 Has anyone done or thought about swapping the head from the EX (with VTEC) to the LX? Do you think that it would be cheaper than just buying the EX? Either way I am stuck with the LX.

Rep Power: 0 Tell me what you hear. I thought it was a pretty good idea too. It gives you the power of the EX without having to waste your money on colored mirrors and door handles.

My LX has colored door handles . I think swapping the heads should work. If you guys find something out let us know, I will ask around too.

Rep Power: 0 I think it will work. I just don't have the money or time to try it. But if u think about it there is actually alot of stuff that has to be replaced and/or modified.
