Another CAI question

I'm still debating if I should get the SRI or CAI for my 5 speed ex cpe. I know that the CAI performs better with the manual trans. My question is, where is the filter exactly located under the hood. I can see the pipe going down but how low is it?

The reason is, after I get my car washed, I noticed some water splashed under the hood, if this is the case, will the filter get wet and eventually damage my engine even if I have a bypass valve.

Thank you

No, the engine just can't compress the solid liquid, water being sprayed or misted on, like water coming off a tire in the rain or something of that nature, if anything like that get's sucked up it will evaporate instantly as soon as it enters the cylinder. That will not harm your engine, you just don't want to drive into a deep puddle and suck the fluid water into your engine.

Just don't let the filter get submerged but then again.. if your filter is submerged.. you're already in deep... (no pun intended.) And it also depends on the CAI that you choose on where the filter gets located. The R1 CAI is located near the center of car just behind the bumper, while the CAI made by K&N loops in underneath the battery and is located near the side.
