go to a place that does it. if u try to do it urself more than likely u will mess it up. plus going through a shop means if it goes bad its their fault and they gots to fix it. on the money issue, if u want it done right pay the xtra

I say DIY all the way. Just make sure you practice with something like tint before you try the actual tint. I didn't practice, but I took my time. I messed up a little, but I only paid $50. I'll get more tint and redo the windows I messed up and I would have only paid $100.
tint is expensive so just save up and buy the best it also depends on what kinda tint and how black you want it here in illinois it costs 30 extra dollars too get limo tint...that sucks but it looks real tight
Yeah, I made the mistake of going in for volunary testing so they knew what I had. I guess the whole idea is so the cops can see inside the car and not get a suprise with someone coming from behind that dark tint with a gun.
I would have it done as well, $150 is about right....I plan on doing it this spring....without experience, it would be hard.....and time consuming, gotta get alll the bubbles out..and that rear window, ouch, my aching back...

u can get pulled over for just tint.. i guess it just isnt in cali...
i kno someone who was in the slow lane doing the limit and was passed by another car doin like 85 in the fast lane, cop saw the speeding car, but pulled my friend over for tint...
the cops excuse? too dangerous to go after the speeding car.

i paid $180 for my tint, all five sedan windows, and it looks great. i've had people ask me if it's factory done, and i have the privilege of saying, no, it's aftermarket!
well I had mine done here in Phoenix with HPCharcoal Solar Guard Films 6% Limo on the back 3 windows and had 22% on the front 2 windows, and a 6% windshield strip installed for $180. They did a great job, I had 32% to begin with but took it back and had 22% put on for a remove and replace for $77 too bright here in AZ would go darker but cops love to give tint tickets. Been really impressed with Solar Gard so far had it on since 8/01. Had formulaone performance automotive films on my 88 Civic and after time I was just not impressed with the color and visibility not a very dark colorful film. I had 5% on back 3 and then 35% on front 2 and a 5% windshieldstrip
Hope this helps some people out on Tint Film and manufactures
