HP racing header users....
I purchased an HP racing header and went to have it put on. After it was put on, one of the outlet pipes was sitting on the frame of the car. Here is a pic of that.....

The part circled is the part that was hitting the frame. All of the bolts were torqued down and lined up so it was installed correctly. I did not like the fact that it was sitting on the frame so I had them immediately take it off. I also do not want to shave away my car frame since that will definitely void my warranty. With the header, I can just replace with the oem one if something big happens. Has anyone else had this problem with a HP racing header. Please let me know. Thanks

well if you have an ex 5sp like me then yes, it's gonna rest on the frame. i left it like that for less than a month before i bought a shorty header with a downpipe...much better setup if you ask me.
oh ok...

first of all, if you shave away your frame, it will not void your warranty. there is no "warranty" that covers the whole car. how it works is, if you have a problem, they have to prove what you did caused the problem. so if i put an intake on, and one of my cv boots rips, they are not going to say that i caused it to happen, since the intake does not directly affect the cv boot, or drivetrain at all for that matter.

I got lucky mine doesn't rub. I also have motor mount inserts so that may be why. Just grind away on the subframe a bit.
mine used to rub but then i got an impact air chisel and bent/cut away the part that rubbed. 9 out of 10 its gonna rub and i wouldn't want any other setup then what i have now, it made a big improvement in my acceleration and the shorty header is just as bad as a stock manifold. the racing header design is the long tubes and the way it collects make it a better choice with bigger gains, its a tuner side effect for it to rub so either deal with it or take action and fix the problem.
ok

A dremel wont do the job. Motor mount inserts stiffen up the stock mounts and keep the engine and trans from rocking back and forth under accel and decel. You will probably need an air grinder or a bigger electric grinder. It will take some work.
