Header help

is the cat connected to the header on a ex?

What boggles the mind is that you can answer this question by looking at your own car. Open the hood, look at the bottom of the manifold where you will see a bunch of stuff. One of which is a flange with 2 spring bolts. If you look above it, you see nothing that looks like a catalytic converter between that joint and the engine. Look under the car, you'll find a cataytic converter behind the flanged connection. So to answer the question that you could have answered without posting and waiting for an answer, no the cat is not welded to the exhaust manifold, but it is attached to the downpipe.
