Hood Pins

What are they, and what's the point of having them? I'm pretty sure I've seen them on a teg in town, but clarify things for me

They should be used on carbon fiber hoods, just in case the latch snaps, so the hood doesn't go flying. They look cool too!

Well hood pins are used in race cars because they have no hood latch so this is what holds them in place, alot of people put them on their rides because the think they make your car fast or something...I use them on my Mustang that I race just to makes sure the hood does not pop open when I'm doing a hill climb or something...as for use on carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods, a quality one should not need hood pins, the latch area should be reinforced with metal to add strength
