all turbos will need their own exhaust manifold. if ur pretty sure ur gonna go turbo (like me), don't go out and buy a header then

Intake too, don't forget that you don't need an intake either.

don't buy an exhuast too. you will need larger piping depending on how much boost ur running. i am planning to do a custom turbo soon. 10 psi of boost. I have it all speced out. just need money now. Check out my quote i got from a local tuner shop(CND funds).

Turbo kit parts list:

*please note, this is a custom built kit specific to this customers needs and fitment.

As such this quote contains upgradeable options for future changes. Prices are current and guaranteable for 30 days from quote.

Exhaust manifold (durable, cast) $600

*Copper gasket: $25

Turbo (stage 1):Turbonetics T3 super 60 (max. hp =280hp, f/b by 2700rpm) $1450

(Stg 2): Turbonetics T3/T4B (max hp=400, f/b by 4000rpm) $1500

Wastegate: (Turbonetics) $400

*I’m recommending the use of an external wastegate as it doesn’t really cost much more but it does allow more precise boost metering . This is important on a stock internal motor especially. The same wastegate would be used for either stage.

Downpipe: mild steel (coated) $250

*Stainless steel $350

Front mount intercooler: 24x3x8 Spearco core $900

*this intercooler is capable of cooling the charge temp up to about 400hp

Intercooler tubing: polished/painted aluminum $350

Chrome $500

Map sensor pressure relief valves: 2x$20

*or electronic pressure limiter (much neater and reliable) $160

FMU: $380

*Boost dependant ignition retard: $350+/-

*ignition wires $120

Miscellaneous fittings, hoses, etc $50+/-

*Exhaust: (custom built 3” Stainless steel) $800

*High performance 3” Catalytic converter $175

*Boost Gauge $50-150

*exhaust temp gauge $150-350

*A/F ratio gauge $70-100

Install and Tuning (incl. essential pieces) $1800

Oil change w/filter & synthetic oil (Motul) $50

Total without options $5970

Head/manifold porting $80 (incl valve grind, resurface)

Labour for re & re of cylinder head $350

New gasket set call dealer

ACT Clutch $800

Clutch Masters Stg III $750

Labour for clutch $350

Machine flywheel (remove excess weight) $140

Tranny fluid $15

Sway bars: currently N/A

*can upgrade to SIR specs when vehicle is introduced to Canada

Springs:

Tanabe (2” drop, sporty ride quality) $295

* I’ve decided to recommend these as they were the deepest drop avail. for your car aside from the coil overs. The quality of these springs are top notch.

Labour $200 + $50 for wheel alignment

Option 2

Ground control coil-overs $569

Labour $250

* ride quality will probably be a little better with these as the Tanabe’s are fairly stiff but handling qualities will be similar with both. Coilovers do require maintenance regularly as well.

Brakes:

Stage 1

Rotors (cross drilled) 2x$119

(slotted)

Hawk brake pads $109ea

Motul brake fluid $35

Labour $140

Stage 2: Complete kit

KVR 4-piston aluminum caliper w/stainless steel pistons

Slotted or cross-drilled 11.8” rotors avail. in gold, silver, or black

KVR Carbon fibre brake pads

Motul brake fluid

Total: $1285 + $200 install

*obviously this stage would stop the car as though you were hitting a wall, but other advantages include a 4lb weight savings of unsprung weight on each corner, reduced brake fade in spirited driving situations, better feed back and much longer pad life.

A large-pipe free-flowing exhaust like the GReddy EVO will suit your turbo application perfectly. Much better than something like the DC TCS... with all those twists and turns and multiple mufflers, I still can't picture how it is supposed to enhance exhaust flow (performance).

i want to built a custom turbo specific to my needs. double the hp/tq, plus quick spool with stock internals. want to have it tunned conservitively, so the engine don't blow. also, want to run at least 13.5 on slicks @ a 3700 feet elevation. those are my goals, and i am budgeting $10,000-12,000 CND to do it all.

Why not!! If I had $6000 laying around I woulda had a turbo allready!! My friend can put a turbo on anything, he has one on his Mazda B2200 work truck, and his moped thing!! The guy is a einstien with PSI, its sweet! But ya, he quoted me about $6000 cdn for full kit tuned, everything, 210 HP at the flywheel he said, @ 9psi. Cool. I wish I had the $$!!!

I think I'd just trade for an RSX for that kind of money.
