I looked at VIS and Seibon hoods, Seibon quality is better than VIS's by far! Its more expensive and weighs more than a VIS by about 2 or 3 pounds. The deciding factor for me was the difference in clear coats, VIS has a good finish but Seibon allmost has a mirror finish, beautiful! Remember, you get what you pay for!! Here some pics.
This shot doenst do justice because i had to shrink down the file, which causes a shitty quality pic

go with VIS too bad I just wish I waited a little longer. Mines didnt come with tag under the hood or either cf under the hood. My friend bought new model VIS and inside is cf and has a tag.

If i based it solely on weight i would have gotten a grade B hood
Their lighter than VIS or Seibon, does that make it better?
VIS is just a name now...if i had to pick anything it would be Fiber Images thats top line right there and Seibon is really making a name for itself, and ive compared VIS to Seibon and Seibon just seems to be so much more durable and better quality....
so i say
FiberImages>Seibon>VIS then whatever
face it, most of us are not putting cf hoods on our cars for weight reduction purposes...9/10 times its for looks, so why not get the best quality one out there..so what if its a little heavier...

i dont think you're getting to a conclusion out of this debate...seibon, vis, or fibre images....ive only seen seibon and vis in person....i would pick seibon but thats not based on much.....

The difference is witin the backing. Look at this Honda-Tech offered hood, grade AAA+ as they seller says.
See all the holes exposing the carbon fiber, this is what create heat damage, cracking and fading.
Now look at the seibon, 1 solid peice. This is where the extra weight comes in, but hey your not going to have to worry about heat damage!
