quick CF hood question...

i recently bought a used CF hood (OEM style), and it needs to be recleared...what do i need to do to prep this hood...how much should i sand down, and with what?...it seems that if i were to sand too deep that i would "tear" the CF weave...PLEASE HELP!!!

if your going to spray more clear then just sand with 400 grit or so if your going to buff to make it shiny then wetsand with 1200 then 2000 grit.... just sand till when u wipe off the water its hazy and has no shine... youll never know exactly how much u take off
good luck

my CF hood is painted the stock color and it matches perfect, you can't even tell. PPl don't believe me till i show them the VIS tag under the hood. Although, my bodyman is excellent.

In the gel coat there were tiny pin holes, he had to individually fill each one or it would look like **** after he painted it. It looks absolutely beautiful.

well, it was a misunderstanding b/n me and my bodyman........i never told him not to paint it. He built full CF cars and painted them so he assumed that i wanted it painted. Oh well, to late now.

btw........some ppl prefer painted CF hoods for a clean look.
