Reverse Lights, Not 7440

Reverse Lights, Not 7440
I was informed that the back up lights were 7440s so I went and bought some, but they dont fit! are they supposed to be 7443s? somebody help!

it says that the front turn signals are 7443, is that what you mean? it says that the rear turn signal is a 7440 and the taillight is 7443 and the rear sidemarker is also 7443 but the reverse lights are not 7440! and now that I think about it the rear sidemarker is not 7443 I dont think cause i got a 168/194 in there, it didnt seem correct, but it still fit.

They are 7443's, Just go to the DIY section at the top of the page and there is a light bulb chart for the civic located there.

I think the difference between the 7443 and the 7440 is that the 7443 has two filaments whereas the 7440 only has one. Therefore the front signal light, since it requires 2 filaments (lower wattage filament used as driving lights, higher wattage filament used as turn signal), would be a 7443. The rear brake-lights also require two filaments (lower wattage for when your lights are on, higher wattage for when you apply the brakes) and are 7443. The rear signal light, however, only require one filament, and, to the best of my knowledge, contrary to the DIY bulb chart, would be 7440. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]
